Magnet options for miniature bases

I saw this question: How do you attach magnets to the underside of bases? At Dakkadakka.

I tried many options. Here are a couple:

Different ways to magnetize your miniatures bases.

Self-adhesive cork as a spacer and then super glue a 1.5 x 1.5 magnet.

Fender washer glued to a 25mm base.

Plain magnets super glued to the underside: 1.5mm x 1.5mm (2), or 6mm x 1.5mm

I like the fender washers the best. Even if you use a 30mm base the fender washer can fit inside the base.

The fender washer will stick to the self-adhesive magnetic sheets I have.

There are company’s now like https://www.cobaltkeep.com/

The problem I have with cobaltkeep is what do I do with the bases I have that come when you buy your miniatures.

You can buy magnets from them, but it seems cheaper to buy from Amazon.

Now you need to understand that this a two-part process.

The first is magnets added to your bases, and then the magnetic sheets in boxes or clear trays.

Clear trays are the winner for me. Easy to see when you are looking for your miniatures, and stack able.

I hope this help all of you who game miniatures or those of you trying to get your storage under control.

See next week’s post regarding the magnetic trays the miniatures are stuck to.
