Easy Basing materials.

Over the several decades I have made bases for my miniatures. I ended up quickly coming up with a simple mix.

You can see in photo the two ingredients that I use.

You do not need to use the coffee and then dry it on the stove. Use it as is.

This is the coffee I use, and a cup goes a long way.

I have not tired other brands like Yuban.

I guess you could get used grounds from Starbucks, but dry it out on the stove before you use it.

In the beginning, years ago, I did do the drying on the stove for the coffee, and felt it was a step that was not needed. I like simple.

What I also like about this mix is varying which filler you use the composition comes out different, which is nice from project to project.

I have used superglue, and Elmers school glue, but ended up liking this, Elmers.

The glue I like to use. Two different base looks using different ratios of the two of the coffee and baking soda.

I do not recommend just putting down the glue and spreading the mix over it.

Mix up all three and spread it on your bases. I try to do five bases at a time. I press in the feet of my miniatures before it dries. After I paint them the foot print is where I super glue them down.

My mixing tub. The base you see is my cardboard floor tile base.

The container had sour belts candy in it before being repurposed.

If you use superglue on top of the mix it will be hard as a rock when it dries. Which is also a nice effect. If you then want to make the bases look wet, use super glue after it has dried.

I do rattle can primer, black or gray, and then zenithal white.

I use apple barrel from Walmart for base rims, and sometimes to add more color to the base.

I have another project going, in addition to my OG Space Marines. I will have photos of that when there are done.

Check back when you can.
