30K Brrrt.

30K Brrrt.

My 30K Space Marines are coming along. The squad is mainly for 1st edition Space Hulk missions. Not that I cant use them in a game of 11th Edition.

Main color is still Dark Prussian blue (Vallejo) model color, with black green, and slaughter red (Army painter speed paint)

Of all the different Armour marks, this is my favourite. I also like the mk 6 with no eagles. On my plastic I remove them. On my lead, they were bought from GW like that.

The Gatlin gun is a 3d print, as is the shield.

The very bright helmet has more to do with my 40 guys and overall unit cohesion.

Started out this way, and yes the primer is two different colors, before the dark purrsian blue was applied. Some of the squad in the back ground.

Decided to not do high lights, other than the bolts on the armor. The bases had been done beforehand, and highlighted then.

Really enjoyed working on the shield.

I did the eye socket in a different color, but hard to tell in these pictures. You can see the 3d print marks that I did not sand off.

Hopefully the view as he and his squad leave the Space Hulk. Suffer not the Xeno to live.

40k Chaplin

Chaplin. 40K Space Marine.

Got this guy done from the Onslaught box. Mainly contrast paints. Main color is still Dark Prussian blue (Vallejo) model color.

Cloak is Sand Golem speed paint (Army painter)

The Banner skeleton is contrast Skeleton Horde (Games Workshop)

Black base primer, zenithoal white dry brushed.

Decided to change up the colors of the purity seals. I was thinking that depending on which champagne it was awarded it would be different.

40K Chaplin from Onslaught box.

Closer view of the miniature.

As hobbyist we complain about the cost of the miniatures.

For me I want to complain about the selling strategy. If you can sell a box of nine miniatures (onslaught box) for 60 bucks US. Why is it 140.00 bucks US on your website.

This was a deal, and I am glad i can paint these guys. Adding them to my Chapter.

Back side showing of the different purity seals from the different Campaigns. Just noticed his right arm scroll was not done. Also noticed a lot of the edge highlights are not showing up in the photos.

I really liked how the book came out.

I hope you finish a mini this week. This is what this is site is all about. Getting you to not be a perfectionist about the painting. Get it done, so you can play. Be happy ever time you get one done.

So what you just bought another army box. :).

Blade guard Ancient.

Blade Guard Ancient. 40K Space Marine.

Got this guy done from the Onslaught box. Mainly contrast paints. Main color is still Dark Prussian blue (Vallejo) model color.

Cloak is Sand Golem speed paint (Army painter)

The Banner skeleton is contrast Skeleton Horde (Games Workshop)

Black base primer, zenithoal white dry brushed.

Blade guard Ancient. Not sure if I want to add more to highlight the lens, and brass the belt end. Otherwise happy.

Closer look at the banner.

The Blade Guard. Only seeing the green above the lens on the helmet now that I took the photo.

Don’t forge as a hobbyist, which I am, not a pro painter, be easy on yourself when you see the minor blemishes. Spots of paint where they should have been cleaned up before posting.

My main thing about this site, paint a miniature a week. Get your squads done. The rules may suck, but man your army is painted.

Rear side. I choose the green on the gun to break up the color. Of course I could have said the planet they are on they ran out of cow leather and so now use orc skin, but hay orcs have rights too.

Side view. I really like how the pole came out. Dark tone wash (army painter) mixed with Polished silver speed paint. 1 to 1.

Thanks for taking the time. Get A miniature painted this week.

OG space marine Lascannon

Old school space marine with slim down lascannon.

My OG space marines finally being painted.

I was never happy with the gear (back pack) and hoses that came with the early editions of heavy weapons. The plastic versions came out, I bought them to slim them down for my heavy weapon slot.

You know its the dark future so why cant the lascannon be like a reloading single shot shotgun, just firing a laser.

This is my version of that for my squads.

The business end. I can see where I left some eye color on the helmet eye rim.

I am really happy with this slim down version of the lascannon. Will be slimming down on my heavy weapons for my lads.

Grim dark enough? It was not even a term way back when I bought these guys.

Im glad to painting these guy now. Still I do like the newer poses, and have some of the newer 30K guys also.

Showing off the metal pack back

Onslaught-Judicar and Eradicatos

Judicar from Dawn of War-Onslaught game box.

The Onslaught box which you could buy here in the U.S. for $40.00 come with the same miniatures as Space Marines: Honoured of the Chapter which you would need to buy for the GW site for $170.00.

The Judiciar done, and I added the other two Eradicators for a group shot.

Judicar from the Onslaught box.

Back side view of the cloak.

Nice shoulder pad and gun hostler on this mini.

Group shot.

The weapons of the Eradicators in the onslaught box is different then if you buy eradicators box.

I try to make my painting simple. Much of the difference is done by Dry brushing white and grey primer over black.

Comparing with the done miniature at the start of this post.

Its such a nice miniature.

This all the miniatures in the box. I have 4 done. I got side tracked with some New Blood bowl Orc lineman.

Hope you come back to see this and those done.

Better view of the miniatures.

Onslaught-Eradicator Sgt.

Eradicator Sgt for Onslaught box.

The Onslaught box which you could buy here in the U.S. for $40.00 come with the same miniatures as Space Marines: Honoured of the Chapter which you would need to buy for the GW site for $170.00.

I started working on the Judiciar, but added the Eradicators to the painting Queue.

My Eradicator Sgt. I am using a new android phone with a higher MP camera. the difference is kinda startling. Being a lazy painter much of the difference in tone is white drybrush on some gray drybrush over black rattle can. Then dark prussian blue from Vallejo.

The top facing parts all got a 50/50 mix of dark prussian blue and intense blue.

The pistol holster and pouch are contrast paints. Sand Golem and Satchel brown. The hoses are Black templar and Basilicanum Grey 50/50.

Tried several times to get a good head shot. This was the best of the lot. New camera phone. I also used a wash 50/50 of Dark tone (Army painter) and Agrax Earthshade (GW) only in the lines.

A better photo of the sgt.

I hope you start off the New Year getting I miniature painted. Does not matter if its Sci Fi, Fantasy, or Historical. One a month is better than none a month. Three a month is even better. Four a month I thinking is pushing it. If you are like me and work for a living, and this is your hobby.

Remember, this is your hobby. Do not be overwhelmed by what you see on social media, by the quality or the perfectness.

Latest OG 12-14-25

My latest OG marine.

Before the end of the year I wanted to get one OG guy done. Stopped on my Dawn of War Onslaught priest, and got back to the main reason for posting.

Learning from my other postings. I added red and green for color.

Not a big fan of real bright plasma guns.

These old white metal bodies had no chest eagles, which was the reason I bought them. Now with the plastic I do not care I just shave them off. Dremel white metal with a mask was a hassle.

A table top view. Noticed that the silver edge on the power sword is not showing up on the photo. Sometimes I wonder if getting up and viewing the miniature as if you were playing would stop unnecessary painting steps?

Eldar

Eldar aspect warrior. Red on green.

Had these five Eldar in my paint queue.

I was blessed with an Onslaught box, and these guys got cleared like everything else. Even the Star Wars Storm Troopers, although they are the easiest of the bunch to paint.

Changed my mind since the Eldar were so close to being done.

Eldar is not my thing, but I disliked the mono paint jobs, and wanted to show how much better they could be. Am not a pro painter, but I hope some pro painters will take up the scheme.

Gray rattle can. I removed most of the spirit stones. In my world the Eldar do not care about Slanessh.

The green base color.

The Red on the dry brushed gray.

Rear side view work in progress.

Head added, and done.

The sister.

The brother.

The leader. The only one with a helmet. :). Not a Space Mrine leader.

My Primaris Sgt

Primaris Space Marine Sgt/Lt/Captain of my own Chapter.

Added more color to my Primaris Sgt based on the experience I got from doing my OG (first sons in the GW system).

I like the yellow on the chain sword, and the red gun housing.

The 3d printed storm bolter, a friend did for me.

Not sure what you all feel is correct regarding the size of Space Marines.

I like the poses of the new guys. Looking forward to the Assault Termis.

I was blessed with an Onslaught box, and that cleared everything from my painting queue.

My painting queue had Star Wars Storm Troopers, man they go together without glue. So nice.

These are the new hard plastic Troopers.

Eldar aspect warriors. I got one of 10 done.

My OG and Primaris guys. Which I have been alternating working on to post. Initially though that was not my intent. I was just going to do my OG.

Each week I am just filled with joy to be able to share with the people in the hobby, because I know you understand the fun of painting little army men.

Brings back memories, right? Little green army men with only five poses?

Anyway, next week I will have another update, hope it will be the Judicar from the Onslaught box.

What a nice pose.

My Sgt for my Primaris. Captain when playing Space Hulk. The best game GW ever made.

Made his helmet darker blue, rather than white of a leader. My Chapter. My Rules.

Better look at the skull back pack. Only now saw the red on the black of the gun brush stroke. Learning a lot about what looks good to post.

Using blue tape to protect the skulls on the back pack from stray brush strokes.

Protecting the rest while I fix the helmet.
