Blues got me!
Space Marine. 40K. More War Hammer more of the time.
Painted my 2nd white metal treasure, and I got to tell you. I remember now, why I did not continue painting these guys twenty years ago.
Too much blue is making me blue.
The primary color is Dark Prussian Blue by Vallejo on a black rattle can auto primer. Not sure if you do, but I tooth brush the primer after it dries. Just to smooth it. If the miniature part is really large and flat I will use a sanding stick. I never did this back in the day.
All these technics I learned from watching miniature painters on you tube.
If I had known 20 years ago to zenithal. I would have done that to my first guy. I did not do that to this 2nd guy.
Wanting the unit to be the same hue.
Iām thinking though, all 70 marines, cannot be this hue.
Let me say this. I am not an award-winning miniature painter, and if that is your goal there are better sites for you to go to.
However, if you just want motivation to get a part of your army done. I hope I can motivate you to do so.
Although I do not use a wet pallet, I do mix my colors with a drop of GW technical contrast medium. Now I do.
Before that man it was just straight paint.
This 2nd guy is as dark as the first guy because no zenithal. I am thinking my first 10 guys will be like this, and the second group of 10 will have zenithal.
I got a primaris assault guy in the works. He has zenithal using Dark Prussian blue.
Stay tuned.
Front View with the black knife.
Right side view showing off his skull shoulder pad.
Left side view of his shoulder pad and knife grip.
I like these back packs more than the newer ones.
I am thinking I need to add more color. Edge the black knife? Green the laurel?
Stay tuned for more.
30K minus 20?
Space Marine with combat knife.
Why minus 20? Because I have had my Games Workshop miniatures unpainted for 20 years. Two decades before they branded 30K.
What is that you mumbled. Primaris. Your pile of shame is 5 years old?
Please.
Come along as I paint, and in some cases strip and repaint 20-year-old Space Marines. Add new bases, and maybe finally have a Space Marine Chapter to play.
Yes, I am still collecting.
So, the newer more expensive, but much easier to work with Primaris will be joining their shorter 7-foot brethren.
Joking aside. If you are a fan of 40K, or even just a fan of the miniatures that Games Workshop makes. Check my site out on your way to work.
I know some of that hard earned cash you are going to earn you will stash for new plastic crack.
Just like I do.
Lead Legion of the Damned Space Marine. You can see a lot of dremel work went into removing details. I liked the flames though.
Shoulder pad you can not buy anymore from GW.
The older backpack.
The red strips at the top of the back pack denote 2nd squad.
You might not be able to see the flat washer I glued to the base. Way back when even packed in foam troop trays I wanted my Space Marines to not be easy to tip over when playing.
Now, I have magnetized carrying trays for my troops.
Stay tuned as I will converting all my bases for magnetization.
